National Flood Services (NFS)

What is National Flood Services, Inc. (NFS)?
NFS is an insurance management organization serving the insurance industry to support the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Insurance Company clients refer to NFS as a ‘third party administrator’ while the Federal Agencies refer to us as a ‘Vendor’.

What does NFS do?
NFS has been a provider of flood insurance services to the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry for over two decades supporting our Client Companies in such a manner that they consistently outperform the Industry growth averages. NFS currently serves nearly 85% of all WYO Companies participating in the NFIP Program. On behalf of our Client Companies, NFS manages over 500,000 flood processing website users who, on an annual basis, generate over 1.25 million flood policies and approximately $1 billion flood insurance premium dollars. NFS manages policies issued in all fifty states and every United States Territory.

What benefit will NFS provide?
The most distinguishing feature of NFS is the fact that we are an ‘insurance management organization’ versus a ‘computer service operation’. Staffed by experienced insurance professionals with various agency and company backgrounds, we bring a unique level of entrepreneurial service to the flood insurance industry.

Policy Administration
Through the leveraging of technology and best practice processes, over 97% of all business transactions through carriers served by NFS are completed online through the NFS online flood processing system.

Personalized Customer Service
All telephone inquiries are answered by a ‘live’ voice. Voice mail is provided only as requested by the caller. In addition to toll-free telephone numbers, agents access Customer Service through email, online CHAT, facsimile and postal mail.

System Redundancy and Disaster Recovery
All hardware and software equipment and applications are fully redundant within our operations. This redundancy allows NFS to enjoy a full sense of security as it relates to disaster mitigation.
